It’s nearly time to dust off those Christmas hats and put them to good use.

Salisbury charity, Alabaré, is asking us to have fun but also help bring about serious change this festive period by taking part in Christmas Hat Day.

All you need to do is get people, whether that’s in an office, school or perhaps even down the gym, to wear a Christmas hat on December 4th.

They have set up a special festive TEXT to give number for those taking part, this will donate £1 to the charity.

All the money raised will go to help change the lives of people who would otherwise be homeless and in crisis this Christmas.

Text CHRISTMASHATDAY 1 to 70085 to donate £1 Texts cost £1 plus one standard rate message and you’ll be opting in to hear more about our work and fundraising via telephone and SMS. If you’d like to give £1 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, text CHRISTMASHATDAYNOINFO 1 to 70085.

Don't forget to share your photos as well with #ChristmasHatDay!

More information can be found on the Alabaré website.

They have posters to download for organised events and flyers to hand out too.

And, if you can't take part in Christmas Hat Day on December 4th there is still another way to support the charity by buying a Woolly Hat Making Kit from them. Every Knitting for a Change Kit comes with everything you need to craft yourself a fabulous woolly hat.  Your hat will also be helping to support someone who has been living in crisis to rebuild their life. £12 online here.
